Samburu School Project
In Samburu County, Kenya, Seeds of Love is building a school that will welcome over 150 children and serve as a vital hub for the entire surrounding community. Our goal is not just to construct a building, but to help establish a lasting culture of cooperative learning and shared responsibility.

The infrastructure consists of 8 classrooms, a computer lab, essential teaching equipment, a kitchen, a dining hall, bathrooms, and a food forest where local trees, vegetables, fruits, herbs, and spices are planted —creating hands-on learning opportunities and promoting sustainable, community-based agriculture.

Designed to offer protection from all weather conditions, the school will be a safe, inclusive, and multi-functional space —empowering children and adults alike through education and dialogue. We are collaborating with local architects and constructors as well as shiftTanks to ensure high quality standards, and sustainable, locally sourced solutions. Once complete, the facility will host essential training and community programs, including:
- Sex and anatomy education, with a strong focus on ending female genital cutting (FGC)
- First Aid training, including hygiene, wound care, and cardiac massage
- Sustainable, self-sufficient farming practices
- Inclusive education for children of all backgrounds and abilities
- Teacher training and educational support for community educators
The land intended for this project is community-owned, meaning it is traditionally shared by the local population. Peninah Lesorogol, our chairwoman, was granted use rights by the community.
To ensure full transparency and legality, she formally requested government permission to build the school on this land. The government approved the request, and we hold the signed letter of consent confirming this decision.
“My family was among the first in our village to allow a girl —me— to attend school and later pursue higher education. That opportunity changed my life. This is my way of giving back, as a thank you for the trust and support they gave me so many years ago. I am deeply committed to improving the position of women within our tribe.”

We believe that education should reflect the voices and needs of the people it serves. This project is rooted in collaboration, local participation, and long-term impact —planting the seeds for a future built on knowledge, dignity, and unity.
Help us bring this vision to life. Every contribution brings us one step closer to completing the school.
